Template:VTab Template:Video game The Game Boy Advance version of Battle for Bikini Bottom is a SpongeBob SquarePants video game developed by Vicarious Visions. Unlike its home console counterpart, this game is a 2D sidescroller with puzzle mechanics. Template:Data:Links is the only playable character in this version of the game.

Plot

The game's story is very similar to that of its console counterpart. After Template:Data:Links finished building his Duplicatron 3000, his robots started to rebel against him after he forgot to set the "Obey Plankton" switch on. The next morning, as SpongeBob and Template:Data:Links exit their house, they notice a GenericBot flying around Bikini Bottom. After arriving at the Krusty Krab, SpongeBob meets with Template:Data:Links, Template:Data:Links, and Template:Data:Links, the latter stating that the town is infested with robots. Template:Data:Links then arrives and explains to SpongeBob that the robots are scaring his customers and are stealing Krabby Patties. Suspecting Plankton to be behind this, Mr. Krabs orders SpongeBob to get to the Chum Bucket and stop him before he ruins his business.

After traveling around Bikini Bottom and fighting robotic copies of his friends with the help of Mystery the Seahorse, SpongeBob arrives at the Chum Bucket and finds Plankton, who explains to him that once his robots discover the Krabby Patty secret formula, he will simply steal it from them. SpongeBob manages to prevent this by destroying the Duplicatron 3000 and his robotic clone, SpongeBot SteelPants, putting an end to the robot invasion and thwarting Plankton's plan once again.

Gameplay

Levels

The game consists of four chapters, each containing six regular levels and a boss level. Each level can only be completed by collecting three golden spatulas, which are used to unlock the gate to the next area. There are also 20 Template:Data:Links in every level; although optional, collecting them all provides access to a bonus level where the objective is to collect all Krabby Patties while riding either the unicycle or the invisible boatmobile to obtain a reward (either an extra life or a new photo for the photo album).
