The second season of The Patrick Star Show was announced on March 21, 2022.

The season was originally announced with 26 half-hour episodes,, however, on July 12, 2024, it was announced that the latter half of the season had been split off into season 3, thus being shortened to only 13 half-hour episodes.

Season 2 premiered on July 26, 2023 with "The Patrick Show Cashes In" and ended on July 25, 2024 with "Cleanin' House."

The season was released on Paramount+ on February 5, 2025, 6 months and 11 days after it completed its broadcast on television.

On May 17th, 2022, Colton Davis finished storyboarding his scene for "The Patrick Show Cashes In." He left the team in January 2023.

Super Stars' rough storyboards were completed on July 19, 2022.

From September to October of 2022, Eddie Trigueros storyboarded "10 & 1 Toilets." In November 2022, Eliza Herndon rejoined the Tim Prendergast team as a storyboard artist rather than a revisionist.

Between January 2023 and January 2024, Caroline Bialas, who had formerly worked on Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years as an assistant production coordinator, recorded and edited scratch vocals for four episode segments "to get a sense of comedic timing and pacing before the episode went further into animation."

By July 2nd, 2023, Nora Meek finished her rough storyboards for "5 Star Restaurant." The storyboards for "Cleanin' House" were finished by September 5th, 2023.

"Get Ouch" was finished storyboarding by September 2023, since it is the last episode Zoë Moss worked on, and she left the show that month.

On March 18, 2024, Rough Draft Korea published an article about their animation process, including images of some staff members working on shows. A few of these images come from season 2 episodes of The Patrick Star Show.

Trivia

• This is the first season of the franchise where every episode has aired in the official packaging order.
• Just like the fourteenth season of the main show, this season was originally set to premiere sometime in 2024.
  • However, on June 9, 2023, the season was rescheduled to premiere on July 26, 2023 with "The Patrick Show Cashes In," being moved forward for a debut by at least six months.
• This season ended exactly a year after the previous season ended.
• This is the third season in the franchise to have no specials, the first two being seasons 1 and 10 of SpongeBob SquarePants.
• This is the first season, where Gary and Pearl do not make any sort of appearances all.
  • This is also the first season, where Mrs. Puff does not appear physically, appearing only in a picture in "Chum Bucket List."
    • Because of that, this is the first season to not feature Lori Alan and Mary Jo Catlett as part of the voice cast.
• While not the first season shortened overall, this is the first season in the franchise where Nickelodeon split the packaged season in half from the production cycle.
  • As a result, episodes that were originally produced as the second half of this season would go on to be released as the show's third season.
