SpongeBob Universe was an event that featured new episodes of SpongeBob SquarePants and its spin-offs, Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years and The Patrick Star Show. The first iteration of the event occurred on November 19, 2021 as The SpongeBob Mega Event. The event happened a second time under the SpongeBob Universe name on May 20 and July 22 of 2022. More episodes premiered on January 13, 2023 for The Tidal Zone. The SpongeBob Universe branding was used again for premieres in February 2024.

The Tidal Zone occurred on January 13, 2023 and featured new episodes of SpongeBob, Kamp Koral, and The Patrick Star Show. The episodes in this event are connected to one another through a sub-plot, in which GrandPat gets lost in time and travels through alternate dimensions and timelines while trying to find his way back home.

The event returned in February 2024, featuring new episodes of SpongeBob and The Patrick Star Show alongside the series premiere and new episodes of Rock Paper Scissors at 5:00pm EST.

General

  • The July 22, 2022 edition of the event served as a lead-in to two new episodes of Star Trek: Prodigy ("Terror Firma" and "Kobayashi"), which took up the 8:30pm and 9:00pm slots respectively.[2]
  • In the February 2024 event:
    • All six episode premieres of SpongeBob and seven episode premieres of The Patrick Star Show preceded the series premiere and new episodes of Rock Paper Scissors.
    • The SpongeBob episode "Don't Make Me Laugh" premiered unannounced on Nickelodeon on February 12 at 5:19pm, with TV guides mistakenly listing a rerun of "BassWard" instead in that timeslot.
    • February 19 was the only day any new episode of SpongeBob, The Patrick Star Show, and Rock Paper Scissors didn't air, when the timeslots allotted to premieres was instead replaced with Sing 2 (which aired before new episodes of SpongeBob and Rock Paper Scissors on February 12 and 20) for the day.
