SpongeBob SquarePants (also written in Tamil script as ஸ்பாஞ்ஜ்பாப் ஸ்கொய்ர்பேண்ட்ஸ்) refers to three Tamil dubs of SpongeBob SquarePants. It is part of International SpongeBob SquarePants.

History

SpongeBob SquarePants would first be dubbed in 2007, when Viacom 18 made a programming deal in which Nickelodeon shows would air on Chutti TV, SpongeBob SquarePants being one of them. Shortly following a separate Tamil dub becoming available on Nickelodeon, this deal with Chutti TV ended.

On August 2, 2018, Nickelodeon India stopped airing SpongeBob SquarePants. There would be no more airings of the show in Tamil until ETV Bal Bharat started airing the show on April 3, 2023, and it continues to air.

Trivia

The "Ripped Pants" song is left in English.
For unknown reasons, "Pizza Delivery", "Dying for Pie", "Imitation Krabs", "Jellyfish Hunter", "The Fry Cook Games", "Squid on Strike", and "Sandy, SpongeBob, and the Worm" (and potentially more)^[1] were never dubbed by Nickelodeon.
- While "Pizza Delivery" already had a dub by Chutti TV, the remaining episodes would not receive a dub until ETV Bal Bharat began airing the show in 2023.
  - "Atlantis SquarePantis" was also never dubbed due to its length. Unlike the other episodes, it is currently unknown if ETV Bal Bharat has dubbed it.
    - Besides the episodes Nickelodeon skipped, ETV Bal Bharat has not dubbed the other episodes of seasons 1-3 and 5, and has not dubbed any episodes of season 4.
