Episodes

Trivia

  • This is the first SpongeBob dub to be localized to its respective language.
    • All the objects, signs, and title cards are fully edited into the Korean language in the Korean dub.
  • The title card credits use a blue water floor reflection background instead of the original title card credits background.
  • The title translates to "Square Square Sponge Song."
  • In South Korea, its age rating is 7.
  • This dub finished its run of the second season of the show 618 days before the United States would and the third season 713 days before the United States would.[2][3][4]
  • This is also the first SpongeBob dub to have a screenshot of an unaired episode being released publicly by the media. A screenshot of "Welcome to the Chum Bucket" was showed to the public on October 25, 2001, months before airing in the United States.[5]

  • "Scaredy Pants" and "I Was a Teenage Gary" are the only episodes to show subtitles in their endings respectively.
  • Despite not being aired on EBS since 2009, the dub has become rare to find, with many of the episodes being taken down by Nickelodeon. However some episodes were recovered, but some weren't making this dub to be partially lost.
  • This is one of the only foreign dubs of the show to have the first five seasons utilize their original NTSC audio track instead of using a PAL-formatted audio track, with the other two being the Latin American Spanish and the Brazillian Portuguese dubs. To this day, it is unknown why the second Korean dub as well as the Japanese dub use PAL-formatted audio for the first five seasons since both South Korea and Japan use the NTSC format.

Censorship

A subtitle is shown as Patrick and Sandy are being attacked by a gorilla.
  • In "Krabby Land," the scene where SpongeBob begins to pour bubble soap on his eyes a subtitle appears saying "어린이 여러분, 절대 따라하지 마세요!" which translates to "Children, please do not imitate this!."
    • Also, the subtitle '어린이 여러분 절대 따라하시면 안돼요' appears in "I Had an Accident," where Patrick and Sandy are being attacked by a gorilla.
  • Episodes such as "Nasty Patty" and "Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy IV" were banned from airing on EBS due to dark content and flashing lights, however both episodes were aired and dubbed by the second dub.
  • The deleted scene of "Just One Bite" is left intact in this dub, and was aired without warning, despite being edited from January 2002 onward in the United States.
