Trivia

  • Until season 8, the intro was instrumental except for the beginning 'are you ready' scene. Season 8 replaced the instrumental with the English intro, which was reused in Season 9 and Season 11. In Seasons 10, 12 and 13 onwards, the intro was completely dubbed.
  • Many songs were cut to increase commercial time. Some include "Ripped Pants" and "Sweet Victory."
  • According to Italian law, engaging in public indecency can lead to legal consequences.
  • In the Simpsons episode "Yellow Subterfuge" they featured a parody of SpongeBob called "Spugna Roberto Quadrati Pantaloni" which translates as "Sponge Roberto Square Pants."
  • The first seven seasons' title cards used the opening credits background with the episode name in Cooper Black (In "I'm With Stupid" it switched to Accent Regular).
    • Interestingly enough, a narrator reads the title card even though it is localized. This could be the result of dubbing the episode first and then localizing text afterwards.
      • Also, the narrator's voice seems to be SpongeBob's.
  • "Truth or Square" was the only episode to integrate the title card's background on the Italian dub until season 8, excluding the title cards used in the first airing of the Legends of Bikini Bottom's saga.
  • There have been five fonts used in title cards:
    • Cooper Sans and DS Accent were used in varying episodes between seasons 1-2. The latter was fully used from Season 3 until Season 7.
    • SpongeFont SquareType was used from Season 8 until Season 12.
    • As of Season 13 the fonts Some Time Later or Krabby Patty are used
    • Some episodes such as "Sammy Suckerfish" use a completely different font.
  • In "Help Wanted" ("Cercasi aiuto"), when SpongeBob returns to the Krusty Krab with the hydrodynamic spatula, he sings the fanfare of 20th Century Fox (now 20th Century Studios).
  • "SpongeBob's Last Stand" was the only episode to premiere in this country on the same date as United States. All other episodes premiered either before or after the United States.
  • In the original intro, SpongeBob's full name is shown each time the kids yell it out in the theme song. In this version's intro, SpongeBob's full name is not shown and instead, SpongeBob himself appears as various incarnations of himself. Also, when his pants bounce off of him (like in the original intro), the character's name is replaced by a long coral, and the part where SpongeBob is upside down when his pants bounce back on him is cut. SpongeBob's name only appears in this dub's logo (with his surname absent), and the logo itself dons the main characters of the show, and the Nickelodeon logo is at the bottom instead of the top. When the logo transitions to the "created by Stephen Hillenburg" text, the transition used is a fade effect instead of the cut effect like in the original intro.
